Between April 15 and May 16, 2019, 160 individual players clashed at the 16th installment of the IMT OPEN, the biggest French tennis tournament organized by students. The 2019 IMT OPEN final took place on May 16 on the campus of Institut Mines-Télécom Business School and Télécom SudParis. A fantastic match resulted in victory for Yannick Jankovits, seeded 35 in France (Hyèrois Tennis Club), against Victor Ouvrard (seeded 88, Loges Tennis Club).
Endorsed by the French Tennis Federation, this year the IMT OPEN also took part in the National Circuit of Major Tournaments (CNGT) and took second place in the CNGT Île de France rankings. This entry into the CNGT official rankings meant it was necessary to have the final matches overseen by accredited referees.
Enzo Rouchdy, who refereed the 2019 IMT OPEN final, has been a qualified referee for 4 years now, including two years at the Roland-Garros French Open. We had the opportunity to meet with him, alongside the head referee for this 16th installment of the tournament, Emmanuel Guerit, who has worked in the world of tennis as a professional referee since 2012. He already has 4 Roland-Garros tournaments under his belt!
Together, the two were “delighted by the organizing team’s warm welcome and the friendly atmosphere on campus” and said they “wouldn’t hesitate” to come back next year for the 2020 IMT OPEN.
