SDG 2: ZERO HUNGER
Catering and food aid for students
Catering on the IMT-BS campus
On campus, students have access to two food services: a restaurant open for lunch and dinner and a cafeteria.
The restaurant proposes balanced meals at affordable prices and is committed to a sustainable approach by promoting short circuits and local producers, waste reduction, etc.
Epicer’INT, the solidarity grocery store
Created in 2021, Epicer’INT is a solidarity grocery store shared by the two
schools on campus (IMT-BS and TSP) that collects unsold food items and distributes them for free to students on campus. This initiative, which addresses the worsening financial situation of some students in the context of the health crisis, also helps reduce food waste.
With its 30 volunteer members, and thanks to the involvement of students, alumni, staff and communities, the association distributes 150 food baskets per week.
Food aid during the health crisis
For students staying at the Maisel during the second lockdown, the two schools and Grand Paris Sud provided a meal distribution (some 170 meals per day from November 6, 2020), which continued during the Christmas vacation and further in 2021. The Students‘ Union Office handled the logistics for the distribution.
Students engaged in the fight against hunger and poverty on an international scale
Building a demonstration farm on Siargao Island, Philippines.
The Demo Farm project, run by the student association Intervenir, aims to teach farmers regeneration techniques and to have them abandon chemical-based agricultural practices.
