DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLE
SDG 14: LIFE BELOW WATER
Reduction of plastic use
Single-use plastic utensils such as cutlery, bottles, straws, but also cigarette filters, are responsible for 50% of marine pollution. These plastics have an impact on marine wildlife. Plastic residues enter the food chain and therefore also affect humans.
Single-use plastics are also a threat to terrestrial wildlife and ecosystems.
To fight against this pollution, IMT-BS is committed to reducing the use of disposable plastics. Plastic cups have been replaced by paper cups. Cup detectors have been installed on the vending machines. Plastic cutlery has also been replaced by wooden utensils.
Waste sorting also allows hazardous and electronic waste to be processed separately, according to specific procedures.
