Another type of platform is possible: a cooperative approach

Collaborative platforms « are now heavily criticized » : Mélissa Boudes, Associate Professor of Management at Institut Mines-Télécom Business School, Müge Ozman, Professor of Management at Institut Mines-Télécom Business School and Guillaume Compain, Doctoral student in Sociology at Université Paris Dauphine introduce another type of platform based on « cooperative model ».

These new cooperative platforms are « owned by their users and apply a democratic operating model, in which each co-owner has a voice, independent of their contribution of capital. In addition, an obligation to reinvest a proportion of the profit into the project, with no way of making a capital gain by selling shares, thus avoiding financial speculation. ».
