SD&RS: mission and strategy of Institut Mines-Télécom Business School

The implementation of an SD&SR policy is one of the 7 objectives of the School’s strategic plan, with a view to having a real impact on programs, on campus as a site and on the institution as a “brand” in the Higher Education and Research sector as well as on the territory.

Responsabilité sociétale et durable d'IMT-BS

The strategic and operational aspects of this objective are organized according to three lines:

A school with a positive impact on its core business: teaching, research and innovation

To meet its ambition to train responsible managers, IMT-BS offers a pedagogical approach based on the teaching of sustainable development and social responsibility in all of its programs, from the Bachelor’s to the doctoral level.

Development of responsible research at ITM-BS

Institut Mines-Telecom Business School develops responsible research by defining its researchers’ fields of study and by initiating a reflection on the impact of their research and practices.

What is it about?

  • A research that makes sense for our partners (companies, organizations, public authorities, academia)

  • A research that worries about its effects on them, follows the rules of scientific integrity, respects minorities, questions its authority and certainties, innovates on themes and methods, reflects on its impact on the world to come and on what it transmits to future generations.

A school with a positive impact on its campus

Improvement of the quality of life, the quality of campus facilities and social policy.

A school with a positive impact on its ecosystem

Increase in the involvement of IMT-BS on its territory and with its peers and partners.

ODD : Objectifs de Développement Durable

The School has a major role to play in achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the education of its students, its research, the relations with its stakeholders, particularly local ones, and through the day-to-day management of its campus.

roue ODD

As an institution of higher education and research, IMT-BS is particularly concerned by Goal 4: “Quality Education”. This SDG provides for access to inclusive education open to diversity with a special focus on sustainable development issues. It also aims to ensure a quality of life for students on campus consistent with global issues and to promote lifelong learning. This universal objective is fully in line with the School’s commitments in terms of education and social inclusion.

Focus on Sulitest

Proposed by the non-governmental organization SULITEST.org, the purpose of this test is to assess students’ knowledge, skills and “mentalities” in the field of sustainable development. It is used as an awareness-raising tool in order to enable IMT-BS students to better understand the major sustainable development issues in their entirety, before deepening them in class or by means of academic, associative or professional projects.
